Three Generations Strong—and Counting
Kirst Construction was founded by Carl, Don, and Ken Kirst. We celebrated 50 years of service in 2026 and have grown to include the third generation of ownership. The Kirst team—including Don, Ken, Mike, Tim, and Andrew—have brought their dedication to quality to successful construction projects throughout Buffalo, Western New York, and the Southern Tier.
Every project is managed by an owner of the firm, ensuring hands-on leadership, accountability, and a commitment to excellence from start to finish. Our long-standing relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers are built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to delivering successful, high-quality projects.
With experience serving over 100 clients throughout Western New York, we have earned a reputation for reliability, craftsmanship, and exceptional service. Many of our employees have been with Kirst for many years, reflecting the mutual dedication, loyalty, and strong company culture that continue to drive our success.
Meet Our Leadership Team
Tim Kirst
PRESIDENT
Tim graduated from Mercyhurst University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management. With more than 35 years of combined construction industry experience—including 10 years in the field, 5 years in estimating, and over 20 years in project management—he brings a comprehensive understanding of every phase of the construction process to each project.
Tim's diverse background allows him to effectively manage projects from initial planning and budgeting through construction and successful completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction every step of the way.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys playing baseball and is an avid outdoorsman who spends his free time biking, skiing, and golfing. A dedicated supporter of the local baseball community, he is actively involved with American Legion Baseball and the AAABA, and serves as the Junior Varsity Baseball coach at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs. His commitment to mentoring young athletes reflects the same leadership, teamwork, and dedication he brings to every project.
Andrew Kirst
VICE PRESIDENT
Andrew graduated from Utica College in 2000 with a degree in Construction Management. With more than 35 years of combined industry experience, he brings a well-rounded perspective to every project, including 10 years of hands-on field experience, 25 years in estimating, and 20 years in project management. In addition to leading projects, Andrew has successfully owned and operated a business for the past 15 years, giving him a strong understanding of both construction operations and client service.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys golfing, staying active through daily exercise, vacationing with his family, and trail riding in a side-by-side with family and friends. Andrew is also deeply committed to his community. He serves as a USA Hockey Level 4 coach and has coached with the Southtowns Stars and the Hamburg Hawks. He has also dedicated 15 years as Head Chair at Hamburg United Methodist Church (HUMC), reflecting his longstanding commitment to community service and leadership.

To support our commitment to safety, we work with an experienced safety consultant, Cliff Fazzalori at Gallagher Insurance, Risk Management, and Consulting, who provides ongoing guidance, jobsite evaluations, training, and compliance support. This proactive approach helps us identify potential risks, improve safety practices, and ensure our teams have the resources and knowledge to work safely.
